Welcome to … “The Christmas Tree Capital of the World”

Indiana, Pennsylvania, the Christmas Tree Capital of the World, is located just one hour east of Pittsburgh at the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. Each year visitors and residents alike drive out to their favorite Christmas tree farm to select and cut down a fresh Christmas tree to display through the holiday season. Meet up with family and friends in Pittsburgh’s Countryside and enjoy some holiday cheer as you pick your tree. Start a new tradition and visit Indiana County and take home a tree!

Indiana County has much to offer being the Christmas Tree Capital of the World.  We have numerous Christmas Tree Farms throughout the county.  Depending on which way you enter the county, you can select the most convenient farm.

Tree Farms open to the public:

Mytrysak Family Christmas Tree Farm (Formerly Flemings)

Come create a family tradition with Mytrysak Family Christmas Tree Farm! You’ll have tons of fun selecting your perfect Christmas Tree whether you opt for a pre-cut tree from their lot or choose one from the field. You can cut it down yourself or they’ll cut it down for you. Available Christmas Trees are Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Canaan Fir, White Fir, Scotch Pine, White Pine and Colorado Spruce. Gregg Van Horn’s Christmas Tree Farm

Visit one of Indiana County’s individually owned Christmas Tree farm during the holiday season. Choose your fresh cut Christmas Tree from the field or a tree lot of pre-cut trees. Holiday wreaths are also available.  Contact Information: 5601 Hwy 954 N., Creekside, PA 15732. Phone: 724-463-8201.

Jimmy Stewart Museum and Downtown Indiana

How ironic is it that the “Christmas Tree Capital of the World” is also the birthplace of Jimmy Stewart, Hollywood’s Christmas Classic Film Star of “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Visit the museum in downtown Indiana, Pennsylvania.  Open seven days a week:  Mon- Friday  10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and Sundays Noon – 4:00 PM.   Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The museum is devoted to the famous actor’s film, radio, television and military career as well as highlights from this civic leader’s life.  See artifacts from Stewart’s life, including objects from his Oscar-nominated role of George Bailey in the Christmas classic, “It’s A Wonderful Life”!  The museum also features a 1930′s vintage movie theatre which plays the Christmas classic daily throughout the holiday season at 1:00 PM.  Make the Jimmy Stewart Museum a “must stop” during your visit to Indiana County this holiday season.  ** No admission fee to shop the gift shop** Contact Information: 835 Philadelphia St., Indiana, PA 15701. It’s The…First Commonwealth Bank “It’s A Wonderful Life” Festival
Date: Occurring November 23 and continuing throughout the Holiday Season  (Festival Kick off is Friday, November 22 and includes Tree Lighting and Parade – details below)

Quota Christmas Home Tour

Downtown Indiana Holiday Cornhole Tournament

Information: Downtown Indiana presents a Holiday Cornhole Tournament as part of the First Commonwealth Bank It’s a Wonderful Life Festival. Limited to forty teams who will compete at three local taverns – including Twisted Jimmy’s and the Coney. A $500 prize will go the first place team! Feel the Love Christmas Concert

Information: The B.E. Taylor tradition will return to Indiana, PA in December when the 2019 FEEL THE LOVE—Christmas Concert returns. It will be a fun-filled night of music and entertainment that the entire family will enjoy. The “FEEL THE LOVE” Christmas Concert with B.C. Taylor and the Band, presented by S&T Bank, will again benefit Renda Broadcasting’s 40th annual Teddy Bear Fund Drive, and will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 7:30 PM. Doors and admission to seating bowl will open at 6:00 PM. As in the past, a pre-concert show will be held starting at 7:00 PM.  We are also pleased to announce that the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is sponsoring the “Christmas In July Ticket Launch.”Customers purchasing concert tickets will also receive a matching complimentary ticket to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium valued at $18.00 each. Concert fans will receive one free ticket to the Zoo for every FEEL THE LOVE—Christmas Concert ticket purchased. Supplies are limited to only 500 free tickets to the Zoo, so you are encouraged to get your concert tickets early. Zoo tickets must be picked up at the KCAC Box Office, they will not be mailed.
