Become a Citizen Scientist: By Participating in the PA 3rd Birding Atlas

June 6 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

This one-hour program combines indoor learning & outdoor field work. In the classroom you’ll get a short overview of the PA Third Birding Atlas. The Project’s goal is to gather the data needed to provide insight for bird conservation & habitat.
The Project leaders are asking Citizen Science volunteers to record bird data, as well as provide flora & fauna data by entering observations into iNaturalist. We will go outside to record data using the eBird PBA3 eBird Portal & the iNaturalist apps.
**Please prepare for the meeting by going to Google Play Store or the Apple App Store & download the free apps of iNaturalist & Ebird on your smartphone. You don’t have to be a birding expert to participate with PBA3 project.
The Program will be led by Tom and Janet Kuehl, who serve as the PBA3 12-county Southwest Region Coordinators & as the Westmoreland County Coordinators. Meet at the Environmental Learning Center, 25 Pond Lane, Penn Run, PA 15765
