The suggested donation is $2.00 per meal. Reservations must be made (and are appreciated) by Noon the day before you intend to attend the center for lunch. ASI offers a modified meal for those with special dietary needs. Call 724-639-9055 to reserve a meal. "Super Suppers", picnics, parties & other fun events are held throughout the year. CANCELLED - Monthly Meeting - Indiana County Stormwater Education PartnershipThe Stormwater Education Partnership has been acknowledged as a powerful tool in providing awareness and education of stormwater in Indiana County. Over 20 organizations have partnered together to continue what was crafted in 2014. CANCELLED - BINGO Aultman Volunteer Fire DepartmentCancelled for the month of December. We will update everyone in 2021 when we can resume! The Great OutdoorsThis program will serve as an introduction to navigating the outdoors. Taking place in White’s Woods, this is an educational program that is focused on basic land orientation and navigation that includes survivability skills. After completion, a participant will be able to identify terrain features, navigate using maps and create temporary shelter using the same techniques that are implemented in the United States Army today! Course will be taught by U.S. Army Staff Sergeant. Fee: $30 per individual participant Dates: September 17th, 24th and October 3rd (Course will run 3 weeks, once a week) Ages: 9 & Up. Ages 8 & under must have adult supervision Recommended Equipment: Hiking boots if possible or any closed toe athletic shoe, bug spray, water bottle, dress weather appropriate, compasses are encouraged. We also feature local artists, musicians, community groups, chefs, and kids' activities at our Saturday markets. Stop by each week to see what's new, and buy local!! Aside from the race, we'll also have food, a basket auction, live radio broadcast, kids activities, and more. Sample beers from around the region while enjoying live music, good food and fun games. Trusal, built in 1870, is the oldest. Come hear about their history and spend an autumn afternoon painting or sketching outdoors (“en plein air”) at this picturesque historic site. University Museum at IUP Presents Exhibit from Permanent Collection, , , , , , , , , , , An exhibition featuring paintings and sculpture from its permanent collection. Items that will be shown will include the sculpture Josephine by renowned Ukrainian artist Alexander Archipenko, pottery from native American artist Maria Montoya Poveka Martinez (San Ildefonso Pueblo), recently restored painting Foggy Morning by local artist Louise Pershing and the painting Goodrich Silos by Frank Herbert Mason. The exhibit is open now until Nov. 20, 2020. To help stop the spread of COVID-19, face coverings are required in all university buildings. The exhibit has been designed and installed to help promote social distancing. The University Museum is located on the first floor of Sutton Hall and welcomes visitors during the following hours: Tuesday through Friday: 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. The Museum is closed Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and university holidays. We age our standard beers on a variety of fruits & spices in a stainless cask called a firkin which we tap right in front of our patrons. The 8th Annual West Penn Trail Triathlon will take place in Saltsburg, PA in October 2020! Check in at SVFD’s River Hall, located at 313 Salt Street, Saltsburg, PA This great race begins with a 7-mile paddle on the Conemaugh River, followed by a 15-mile cycling leg on varying grades and terrain, and finishes off with a true 5K on the West Penn Trail. Compete solo or teams of two to three. The race is chip-timed, with staging areas between each leg. Boat rentals are available through local liveries. Details can be found on our website (link below). All proceeds benefit the West Penn Trail Maintenance Fund. The West Penn Trail is a scenic 17-mile rail trail between Blairsville and Saltsburg, with access to 9 miles of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail to Delmont. The trail offers river vistas and historic views of the PA Mainline Canal, and crosses over four stone-arch bridges (c.1907). The West Penn Trail is maintained solely by volunteers.
