The plant walk will focus primarily on abundant invasive species and how we might “eat the invaders”, but will also cover some abundant native plants. Foraging ethics, safety, and preparation will also be discussed. First class you will learn how to make a 5 petal flower, the rose, and daisy. Practicing at home after first class is recommended. Free Helmet Giveaway - The Dilltown Trail Head, , , , , , , Indiana County Parks and Trails and Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority (CCCRA) will be hosting a free helmet giveaway on Saturday, July 11th. The helmet giveaway will begin at 11:00 AM and will end at 2:00 PM, or until helmets run out. The Dilltown trail head is located across from the Dillweed Bed & Breakfast, 7453 PA-403, Armagh, PA. This event is being held to encourage trail user safety while visiting the Ghost Town Trail, which was named Pennsylvania’s 2020 Trail of the Year by the Trails Advisory Committee, a committee formed under DCNR to select a featured trail each year based on a competitive process. Trail enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the giveaway to receive a free helmet and use the Ghost Town Trail at their leisure. Visitors are encouraged to follow proper CDC and PA Dept. of Health guidelines, such as wearing a mask and maintaining a 6 foot distance between others.
