Paul and Stella La Violette have done what a lot of us say we would like to do but don’t, wrote books about the things that interest them in the events that take place about them. They have formed their own two-person publishing company, Annabelle Books, to produce their books. The books Annabelle has produced have been big sellers for the last ten years. The Indiana County Potters Association coordinates special events for the purpose of raising the profile of the ceramic arts in this area. The Association sponsors a tour of local pottery studios during the third weekend in October. There are ten studios with over 22 potters that participate in the event, opening up their workplaces for visitors and selling their finished work. This Children's Book is a story about a white reindeer named Glee. He lives in Indiana County, PA, The Christmas Tree Capital of the World, and he takes care of all the trees as they grow. But once you bring a Christmas tree into your home, Glee will visit and make sure the children are polite, share and use good manners. Glee will also take letters to Santa. Then Christmas morning he is back helping the trees grow for next year.

Silverbrook Farms, established in 1981, is home to our sheep - mostly corriedale and crosses, alpacas, llamas, angora goats (mohair), a few angora rabbits and the plant flax. Most of the sheepskins and fibers at the shop are from our natural fiber farm. Silverbrook Farms welcomes the public to browse through 10 rooms of sheepskin and fiber arts products in a restored 1860 home.

The Artist's Hand Gallery's mission is to showcase and bring to market the artwork of our local artists and artisans. Windblown Studio is a contemporary art space with a focus on clay. We teach classes, present workshops and maintain a gallery of fine functional pottery. Our one hour "Clay Experience" is an introduction to throwing clay on the pottery wheel. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 9 am - 5 pm and other times by appointment.
