Celebrating “Indiana County Day – Christmas in July”

July 21st, ICTB staff enjoyed co-hosting their annual “Indiana County Day – Christmas in July” with the Indiana County Christmas Tree Growers Association at Idlewild & SoakZone in Ligonier, PA. The hot and humid conditions didn’t deter park attendees from stopping by the Indiana County informational gazebo. ICTB staff met people from all over the region who shared their IUP and Indiana County connections, making it a great opportunity to extend our marketing presence throughout the region while distributing visitor guides and member brochures. More than 300 Indiana County backpacks were distributed to kids whose families stopped by the gazebo. Park attendees expressed such immense interest in the event that the giveaway backpacks were gone with-in an hour and ten minutes! Kids screamed with excitement at the sight of Santa in his gazebo, which was cheerfully decorated with a Christmas tree from a member of the Indiana County Christmas Tree Growers Association, Ron Mancabelli. In addition to photos with Santa, children had a blast taking their picture with Tammi the Tourist!

Where did June Go?

The Tourist Bureau had a non-stop June attending and participating in the many special events which took place throughout the County. From hosting IUP parents at the Welcome Mat and then welcoming over 13,000 visitors for softball tournaments, to the Jimmy Stewart Airport Festival, Saltsburg Canal Days, Smicksburg Strawberry Festival, Pick-A-Dilly Herb Faire, the Twilight Cemetery Tour and the Blairsville Music Festival.
